Senior Management Accountant - Construction

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant with either ACCA or ACA or CIMA qualifications to join our clients busy accounts team at their head office.

The Company

A market leading construction contractor, with operations globally. They have been operating for over 30 years and have been growing consistently and now operate 4 offices in the UK with further expansion plans in place.  

Job Role:

  • Reporting directly to Head of Finance and board of directors
  • Analysis of operations /regions and sectors
  • Opportunity to travel overseas occasionally
  • Consolidating group accounts/commercial
  • Good opportunity for oversight and exposure to all departments within the finance role
  • Progression opportunities with Groups rapid expansion
  • Exposure to external and international auditors/banks including UAE, UK, Saudi Arabia and Ireland

Duties:

  • Assist in preparation of consolidated year-end statutory accounts
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly management accounts and bank packs
  • Maintain fabrication costs & products register
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Prepayments and accruals
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Review bank/revenue reconciliations 
  • Reconcile inter-company transactions
  • VAT returns
  • Payroll processing for weekly employees
  • Sales ledger and purchase ledger processing
  • Cash book entries
  • P11D Submissions
  • Ad-hoc reporting

Skills Required:

  • ACCA or ACA or CIMA Qualified 
  • Candidates must have excellent Excel skills/analytical skills
  • Confident and able to work on own initiative
  • Must have good attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Accounting experience in construction
  • Coins software knowledge preferable
