Refrigeration Service Manager

We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious Service Manager to play a key role in our expanding Refrigeration & Renewables business. The position is suited to somebody with existing industry experience who also has the skills to manage a team of mobile engineers and communicate effectively with a variety of clients.

The business

  • The business is based in Exeter and has various customers throughout the Southwest.
  • The client base is well spread between commercial Food Manufacturers and Distributors and private Heat-pump customers.
  • The range of services includes:

Refrigeration design, installation and ongoing service

Coldroom design and installation

                Heat-pump installation and ongoing service

  • The business has an excellent reputation and strives to achieve a premium level of service. It currently employs 24 people with ambition to develop the team as sales continue to grow.

The role              

  • This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to take ownership of the service department.
  • The role is focused on providing a premium level service and excellent customer experience.
  • Your engineering team will comprise of six existing engineers with an ambition to increase these numbers as the workload increases.
  • With administrative support you will be responsible for overseeing the following:

Management of the Service team

Response to emergency breakdowns

Planning routine maintenance

Providing follow-up quotations

Communicating with the client

Reviewing completed Job sheets prior to invoice

                Ensuring a high level of quality and customer satisfaction

                Maintaining and improving health and safety standards

  • Additionally the role will involve:

Developing sales and client relationships

Identifying areas of improvement

            Planning and implementing staff training

            Staff review and recruitment

  • The role is office based and is a salaried position.

The Candidate

  • This is a high profile role and the successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels.
  • To be suitable you must have prior industry experience and be able to offer a degree of technical support to both Engineers and Customers (in conjunction with the Technical Director).
  • You must be an excellent team player ideally with previous experience of managing a team.
  • You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to be an Ambassador of the business.
  • You must have good people management skills and the ability to manage a busy and fluid workload prioritising appropriately.
  • You must be a self-starter with a naturally high standard of workmanship prepared to deliver an excellent service.

Salary

  • Basic salary up to £40,000 subject to experience
