Passive Fire Protection Surveyor

My client is a leading contractor operating within the passive fire protection market, delivering fire door installation and fire compartmentation projects across the UK. These include high and low rise domestic and commercial properties within the private and public sector. Due to continued expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for Passive Fire Protection Surveyor to join their team in the London and South East area.

As well as candidates with relevant experience and qualifications we will also consider:

  • Building Surveyors with experience of Stock Condition Surveys looking at getting in to the Fire Industry.
  • Trades people with experience of fitting and repairing Fire Doors, looking to get off the tools and into a technical role.
  • Supervisors who have been overseeing teams delivering FRA works looking for a career change.

You will be part of a team carrying out fire door and compartmentation surveys for private and public sector clients including Student Accommodation, Schools, Colleges, Housing Associations and Local Councils.


  • Complete visual inspections and surveys on fire doors to ensure they are up to compliance standards
  • Produce reports and offer advice and recommendations to clients
  • Have a good understanding of Timber Fire Doors and similar furniture
  • Be able to identify that the frame specification is correct for the door's rating
  • Be able to ensure that the choice of Frame/lining/casing and intumescent smoke seals are compatible
  • Have good working knowledge of current Health & Safety and other relevant legislation

What are we looking for?

  • Fire Protection relevant qualification preferred but not essential as training can be provided to attain qualifications
  • Surveying experience of private and public sector properties
  • Full UK driving license
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • IT literate, able to use microsoft suite and Tablet/PDA's.
