Commercial/Industrial Electrical Contracts Manager

We are a construction based Electrical Contractor working mainly within Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Oxford, Swindon and Bristol areas. In line with our planned expansion, we are now seeking to recruit additional Contracts Managers.

CONTRACTS MANAGER - Role Description

  • Responsible for planning and organizing the duties of employees within the project team. Have site supervisors reporting to them, along with non-management professionals, sub-contractors and directly employed operatives.
  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of project delivery, Including Tender evaluations, design, supply chain performance and compliance management.
  • Responsible for ensuring the profitability of projects is achieved in line with budget expectations.
  • To manage projects to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Carryout site visits for client meetings, surveys, and commissioning/site inspections, handovers.
  • To manage project issues and ensure resolution is achieved.
  • Ensure that project team work in compliance with company policies.
  • Develop and enforce best practices to ensure operational efficiency.
  • To manage project supply chain including sub-contractors & suppliers.
  • To manage the expectations and requirements of the customer & dispute resolution.
  • To manage the day-to-day operational aspects of multiple projects at a time.
  • To manage teams on concurrent projects.
  • To arrange and manage all project related meetings.
  • Involvement in internal and external design process.
  • Production of technical submittals.
  • Procurement of materials, equipment and sub-contract works including attending client meetings & guiding them through processes.
  • Writing progress reports & presenting them to managers & clients.
  • Presentation of Contract Review Forecasts to Management.
  • To monitor and manage all contractors, consultants and third party suppliers within each project.
  • Continually review contract delivery standards, and work in conjunction with the client to identify strategic improvements.
  • To manage project delivery in accordance with the contracts SLA’s
  • Work with Line Manager to develop operational team to maximise ‘in house’ capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and statutory testing requirements within all Projects
  • Manage Permit to Work process within areas of responsibility and ensure process followed
  • Support and ensure compliance with operating practices and procedures at all time.
  • Develop and mentor staff and operatives within areas of responsibility.
  • Manage, oversee and direct complete service delivery function, ensuring customer satisfaction and service delivery quality is maintained.
  • Support invoicing function within team/ group of contract and ensure WIP levels are maintained at budgeted level.

 

 

 

  • Ensure/ enforce accuracy of data and financial inputting in order to maximise operating efficiencies
  • Ensure full compliance with industry bodies at all times within areas of responsibility
  • Ensure the company Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures are enforced through all areas of responsibility
  • To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
  • To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
  • To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

You must have

  • Working Knowledge of the electrical industry including 18th edition
  • Experience with installation of electrical and controls systems whilst having an understanding of A/C, Heating Ventilation & Chiller controls.
  • Reliable, flexible and team player.
  • Driven and motivated and able to prioritise.
  • Good communicator.
  • Forward thinking.
  • Project Management skills
  • Technical Qualification
  • Health and Safety management trained including CDM experience.
  • Ability to manage and change successfully
  • Commercially astute
