?Super Dairy? to create hundreds of construction jobs

There was some great news for the construction industry in Aylesbury this week after the announcement that Arla Foods is planning a ?150 million ?super dairy? in the town. According to the food giant, the project will create over 500 construction jobs in addition to 680 skilled posts at the dairy itself.

Hundreds of construction jobs to be created.

Plans for the one billion litre ?super dairy? have been published this week and Arla are bullish about the construction jobs that the project will create. The company said: ?This would be one of the biggest employment investments in the area for many years, creating approximately 680 skilled jobs.

?In addition, several hundred construction jobs will be created and the additional commercial space, if developed, could foster a further 500 jobs.?

Subject to planning, the project is expected to start in 2011 with milk production set to begin at the end of next year.

Local MP supportive of project and the creation of many construction jobs
Local Conservative MP David Lidington posted on his blog that he supported Arla?s plans. He wrote: ?My own first reaction to Arla?s plans is to welcome a development that will bring jobs to the Aylesbury area. Our local economy has far too few big private sector employers and the largest, Lloyds/HBOS, is cutting jobs sharply.?

The detailed planning application will contain plans for the milk processing facility, ancillary offices, treatment and energy centre together with the landscaping proposal. In addition, an ?outline application? will also be submitted for an adjacent commercial development.

Assuming a successful planning application, this new project could create several hundred employment opportunities in the area from the middle of 2011 ? great news for anyone looking for a new construction job.
