Taking pressure off jobs in air conditioning
12 January 2009
The new M2M controller from Mitsubishi Electric enables those with jobs in air conditioning to gain convenient control over their systems. “This is the first wireless controller in the air conditioning industry and it brings the benefits of remote monitoring and control to a much wider audience,???? the company claimed.
The controller is developed on the basis of machine-to-machine technology. An example of its implementation is by transport companies that provide live data to passengers at terminals on the likely arrival times of the next buses. The controller contains a SIM card that allows remote sites to talk to the central server through the mobile phone network. It empowers those with jobs in air conditioning to fully access and control their systems via the Internet.
Data transmitted through the controller is encrypted for security and stored on the server. The controller also has a specially designed graphics interface that helps those with jobs in air conditioning monitor system performance and visualise data. These benefits have attracted the attention of smaller premises without ethernet connections, as well as that of larger corporations that cannot afford to let external systems link into their security networks and firewalls.
In other words, the controller enables those with jobs in air conditioning in large companies to reduce energy consumption across a range of equipment within each branch. Small businesses can also enjoy all the benefits normally associated with an ethernet-based system, without the need for a complex infrastructure.
