Olympics Boost for House Builders and Building Surveyors Jobs
10 May 2010
It seems that building surveyors? jobs and property building in East London have been given a new lease of life since the award of the 2012 Olympic Games to the UK capital. This has been underlined by reports coming from developers in the area such as Telford Homes.
The regeneration of East London has given a lift to the area and will not only provide wonderful facilities during and after the Olympics, but also much needed housing. All this leads to more construction work and building surveyors? jobs as well as others in the London area.
Andrew Wiseman, chief executive of Telford Homes said: ?the housing market in East London has shown positive signs of recovery, with regeneration surrounding the build up to the 2012 Olympics continuing to stimulate demand.? Telford Homes reported a sharp increase in sales for the first three months of 2010, providing a welcome boost to the housing market in London.
As the big event in 2012 draws ever closer interest in the area will continue to grow, but with an increase in housing there also needs to be investment in schools and hospitals to meet growing demand. As the UK pulls away from recession such a stimulus is vital for the construction industry.
If the success of Telford Homes can be replicated by other property developers it will surely boost the jobs market too. It may be an exciting period over the next two years with hopefully more construction and building surveyors? jobs being posted on recruitment agency websites.
