New jobs to be created in West Midlands as leading logistics firm expands
If you live in the West Midlands and are looking for a new logistics job, the opening of a major new centre may be the ideal opportunity. Europa Worldwide Logistics, one of the largest privately owned logistics and distribution companies in the UK, is expanding its operations by moving to a new purpose designed centre in August 2011.
The centre will be five times larger than Europa’s existing operation and will create dozens of new logistics jobs.
Major new logistics centre
Europa’s a new purpose designed distribution and warehousing centre will be situated at ProLogis Park, Midpoint, Birmingham – just a few minutes from the M6, M42 ad M6 Toll. At 155,000 square feet, the centre will be five times larger than the company’s existing operation and will offer state of the art distribution and warehouse facilities.
The expansion will, according to the company, generate over 70 new jobs for the local economy.
Carbon neutral centre
Europa Worldwide Logistics is one of the largest privately owned transport and logistics companies in the United Kingdom and has been delivering cost-effective freight solutions since 1966. The company already employs 430 people in the UK.
Grenville Turner, Managing Director - Europe, said: "In our business, location is key. We looked at a number of options and Midpoint has the best location and will allow us to achieve our expansion ambitions and demonstrates our commitment to enhancing the service we provide to meet the needs of our customers now and in the future.
“Being able to design a facility specifically adapted to our business needs is a huge advantage and will enable us to achieve our strategic objectives."
