New Projects Set To Create Sussex Construction Jobs
A series of exciting new projects and developments in Sussex are set to create hundreds of new construction jobs in the region. The Argus reports that business leaders have welcomed the various plans as a ‘vote of confidence’ in the area.
Three projects set to create over 10,000 jobs
The Argus reports that ‘a new steel plant will create 200 jobs at Shoreham Port, whilst a windscreen repair firm could bring up to 70 more jobs to Hove.’
The new steel plant is expected to be constructed in the next year and to open in spring 2012. Community leaders welcomed the construction of the Parker Steel processing plant at Shoreham Port and the construction jobs the project was set to create.
Mark Froud, chief executive of Sussex Enterprise, the county's chamber of commerce, said he was ‘delighted’ by the news. Mr Froud said: "It is another step in the regeneration of both Shoreham Port and the local manufacturing industry.”
Tim Loughton, MP for East Worthing and Shoreham, said: “This is an encouraging vote of confidence."
