Look to a Strong Economy For European Construction Jobs Such as Russia
Finding European construction jobs is not an easy process given that many other countries have been battling their way through a period of recession. In the same way the construction industry has been hard hit in the UK, the same can be said in many European countries but there are a few exceptions.
For example, Russia is one of the four fastest growing economies and contrary to some people?s belief, there are no laws preventing foreign citizens from working there. So when looking for European construction jobs, a search for work in Russia may be worth considering.
This is a lot easier to achieve when working for a UK or overseas company with operations in Russia, as opposed to a Russian company. It has been reported that there is a skills shortage in Russia in areas of construction and engineering.
Of course there are a number of barriers to UK citizens working in Russia, not least the language which is particularly important in towns and cities outside Moscow. Unlike many other European countries, English is not as widely spoken in Russia although that is gradually improving.
Landing European construction jobs within EU member state countries is going to be a lot easier than working elsewhere as there is the issue of obtaining a visa. For short term work in Russia, UK citizens can obtain a business visa for up to 12 months, but the employer will need to apply for a work permit for their employee for longer term work.
