Logistics Jobs Being Created In South West After Company Agrees Lucrative New Contract
There was some good news for the jobs market in the South West recently with the announcement that six new logistics jobs are being created at a major logistics company in the Cornish town of Redruth.
Carn Logistics has recently secured a lucrative new deal for delivering pallets in Cornwall on behalf of UK Pallets – part of the giant UK Mail group.
Busy 2011 in prospect for the firm as they look to fill logistics jobs
The new contract with UK Pallets started in March which kicked off an excellent start to 2011 for the Cornwall based company. As well as securing this lucrative contract, the company is also planning to move premises in the summer, to a new purpose-built site on the town’s Treleigh Industrial Estate.
Alan Cooper, managing director of Carn Logistics, said: “We were already seeing a much improved increase in our parcel delivery business, with several large customers moving to using Carn Logistics as their preferred solution for sending next-day parcels.
“By going into partnership with UK Pallets we will be able to give our Cornish customers an even better service, as well as reduced costs for the sending of their pallets.”
Logistics jobs to be created
Carn Logistics already boasts over 500 accounts with Cornish businesses for the sending of parcels on a next-day delivery basis. The deal with UK Pallets is set to further widen the firm’s customer base, in addition to creating six new logistics jobs in the region.
