Jobs in Construction Industry Given Further Boost
Any uplifting news for jobs in the construction industry is of course very welcome and this was forthcoming in news of the UK economy released at the end of August. Figures released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed the UK economy grew more than was initially thought in the second quarter.
The growth shown was 1.2 percent, which was higher than the projected 1.1 percent and in contrast to the U.S economy where growth is falling. Once again the figures were boosted by the construction industry growing by 8.5 percent in the second quarter, which was higher than the initial 6.6 percent estimate.
Some may query whether this news of growth in the UK will automatically translate in to an increase in jobs in the construction industry. Only a sustained period of growth can really prove that the construction sector is fully back on track and in good shape.
However, the news is encouraging for businesses, workers and those looking for work in the construction industry. There have certainly been more jobs in the construction industry being advertised through the Humres website over the last three or four months.
Therefore, it is important for candidates looking for work to ensure they are registered with reputable agencies such as Humres and ensure their CVs are up to date. Whilst job vacancies in the industry are increasing it is still a competitive market, so being prepared and ready to apply for jobs at a minute?s notice is of paramount importance.
