High-Speed Rail Might Extinguish The Heathrow Controversy26 June 2008
Rail Maritime and Transport Union suggested an economy boosting and eco-friendly alternative to the much controversial third runway at Heathrow.
Rail network announced their plans to advance with strategic review into the prospects of opening number of new high-speed lines. This environment friendly alternative to short-haul flights will not only boost economy, but mark ebb in the existing air pollution levels.
Currently, 20 percent of flights from Heathrow are already served by a viable rail alternative and another one out of the five routes befits to high-speed rail as potential alternative.
