Getting Back to Work with Temporary and Part Time Construction Jobs
16 August 2010
In difficult economic times there are good reasons to consider temporary and part time construction jobs, which suit people for numerous different reasons. Figures released in July show that a record number of people in the UK are in part time employment, which helped to reduce the unemployment figure for the three months leading up to May.
In fact the Office for National Statistics revealed that 27 percent of the workforce in this country was in part time jobs, which is the highest level since records began in 1992. So what would be the reason for people to take on shorter hours and temporary roles including part time construction jobs?
Of course firms have to be more flexible these days in allowing working parents to return to their jobs in part time roles in order to accommodate looking after their children. However, this has been the case for several years now as families look to meet the rising cost of living and in particular house prices as well as getting the kids to and from school.
When people have been out of work for some time, taking a temporary or part time job are good options to ease back into the market, and can act as a good stepping stone to gaining a full time job as and when they become available. Long term unemployed people looking for work may want to consider temporary and part time construction jobs to give their careers a kick start.
