Finding Skills for a Renewable Energy Construction Job in UK

At Humres we are advertising more jobs in the renewable energy market, which is an area people looking for a construction job in UK may like to consider. The use of nuclear, solar and wind power is being pushed to the fore by not just the British Government, but also administrations around the world looking to meet their renewable energy targets.

This is a fact recognised in the strategic plan of ConstructionSkills, which is the Sector Skills Council for the UK construction industry. The report states that energy used in construction and the built environment accounts for around 47 percent of the UK?s carbon emissions. Therefore the sector has a huge role to play in the country meeting its carbon commitments.

The concern that ConstructionSkills has is the ability to recruit qualified workers for a construction job in UK relating to renewable energy. The specialist skills needed for the construction of low energy future buildings and infrastructure projects need new levels of skills and expertise.

This is a very important time for the construction industry as there will some very demanding projects such as the Nuclear Build programme. These will test the technical capability of the industry and force it to work with other sectors such as energy producers. In that regard it is also an exciting time for the construction industry.

Therefore ConstructionSkills will be looking to work with the government and the construction industry to ensure that skills training programs are made available. A renewable energy construction job in UK will be a key area for the UK in the next five years and probably beyond.
