Electrical Jobs Rewarded Most in the Construction Industry
18 June 2010
A regular search through the new job postings on this site produces several electrical jobs each month. There are many different types of electrical jobs within the construction industry with specialist skills sought after by various companies.
For electrical engineering graduates, a job in the construction industry can lead to a rewarding career. The average salary for an electrical engineer in the UK is approximately ?30,000 but can reach in excess of ?60,000 for the best and most successful in the business.
However, according to salarytrack.co.uk the highest average salaries for electrical jobs and in particular electrical engineers are in the construction and property sectors. The average is ?35,000 which is higher than the average of all other sectors including aerospace, retail and IT.
While for some electrical engineering graduates a career in construction may seem like a bit of a gamble given the precarious state of the industry, there are positive signs of recovery especially in the private sector. Figures for April showed the strongest signs of recovery in construction with activity at its highest level since September 2007.
This doesn?t mean there is an explosion of job activity in the construction industry just yet, and some of the optimism has to be tempered by expected cuts in the public sector. Yet electrical jobs within the industry can provide exciting and varied opportunities for skilled engineers.
An upturn in vacancies within the construction industry is reflected by new postings on the Humres website. Agency staff here has excellent contacts in the industry and work hard to not only find openings, but also find the right people to fill those positions.
