Electrical Construction Jobs in the UK Need Even More Qualified Men and Women
A search through the employment opportunities being advertised on the Humres website shows several electrical construction jobs coming up in many parts of the country. Many of the skilled trades such as electricians and plumbers are still very much an integral part of the construction industry.
Opportunities exist for people wanting to step into these professions with the UK in need of more qualified workers. It is estimated that there will be a shortage of 37,000 electricians in this country over the next five years, which is extraordinary given the expected unemployment levels for the next 12 months.
So the potential for electrical construction jobs is there especially as more people are leaving the industry than joining it. Taking the appropriate qualifications can lead to an excellent career as an electrician either as a self employed worker, or working for a larger firm in the construction industry.
Training has traditionally been available to mainly 16 to 24 year olds through electrician training and day release college courses, which lead to vocational electrician qualifications and take up to five years to complete. However, times are changing and courses are available to men and women of all ages and can be completed in much less than five years.
Apprenticeships are also a great way to start a career as an electrician. Electrical construction jobs are out there for interested people with training courses easy to find via the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) website.
