Construction and Surveyors? Jobs Given Welcome Boost
06 May 2010

It seemed to be a long time coming, but some good news for construction and surveyors jobs was reported at the beginning of April. The construction industry appears to have begun its recovery with the news that the housing market has recovered, and demand in the commercial property market has picked up in the first quarter of 2010.

In fact companies such as Bovis and Persimmon are making plans to hire staff as well as buying new plots of land. Hopefully over the next few months, recruitment agencies like Humres will be advertising more and more construction, engineering and surveyor?s jobs as well as other related roles.

David Noble, the chief executive of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Managers (CIPS) went as far as to say that the construction industry had turned the corner. This was backed up CIPS figures showing growth in the construction trade during March, which is the first time this has occurred since February 2008.

The recovery in the construction industry is still brittle, much like the UK recovery as a whole so it isn?t time to pop the champagne corks just yet. However, school leavers, graduates and others looking for construction and surveyors jobs will have been given greater confidence of seeing an increase in vacancies being advertised.

As the politicians argue about the best way to boost the economy and improve job prospects in the lead up to the May 6th election, hopefully the construction industry will continue its improvement. In the meantime job seekers can continue to check the Humres website as new vacancies are posted on a regular basis.
