Construction and Building Surveyor Jobs Could Benefit From Planned New Developments
12 April 2010
It might be easy to think that building surveyor jobs and other roles within the construction industry have completely dried up given the current economic gloom. However, unemployment has been gradually falling in the UK and some encouraging signs have been showing in the construction industry.
For example there are a number of new developments in London being given the green light, which will help to boost construction and building surveyor jobs. Naturally this has been further enhanced by the 2012 Olympic Games coming to the capital, with various projects well under way and hopefully on schedule.
Many people think of the banking industry when they hear about the development in London?s docklands. Banking has been a dirty word for some in the last 18 months, but docklands has offered so much more in terms of hotels, businesses, retail and of course the once much maligned Millennium Dome and now respected O2 Arena.
The development continues in the area unabashed with potentially more construction and building surveyor jobs for the future. For example a 24 storey tall eco-tower is planned for the Royal Victoria Dock in London, with another twin tower planned just 100 metres to the west of this.
The perception that all construction work in this country has come to a complete standstill is false and the work is not limited to just the capital. Developments up and down the country are planned or underway, be it hotels, shopping centres or offices, so this should provide some encouragement for anyone looking for vacancies in the industry.
