Construction Job Vacancy Searches Should Become Easier in 2010
14 December 2009
Finding a suitable job vacancy has been an onerous task for many unemployed people in the UK over the last 12 months. The construction industry has perhaps been as hard hit as any other during this period, but the signs are there may be a light at the end of the tunnel.
Officially there have been 21 months of continued decline in the industry according to the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply index for November. However, whilst the commercial and civil engineering subsectors continue to decline, there is evidence of expansion in other areas such as residential construction.
The figures don?t provide much optimism for skilled workers looking for an elusive job vacancy in the construction industry, but the decline has clearly slowed since November 2008. On that basis industry leaders foresee improved workloads and additional vacancies over the next 12 months, as the anticipated recovery in the UK economy kicks in.
For now the public sector provides the biggest hope to the construction industry, with government funds already approved for schemes such as the Building Schools for the Future projects. This alone will have ?55 billion worth of investment and is billed as being the biggest ever school buildings investment programme.
In spite of the current woes of the consruction industry, opportunites are still arising on a regular basis, and this site is updated constantly to ensure every new job vacancy is posted as soon as possible. The UK will doubtless have to commit to further building projects to ensure our infrastructure can cope with the demand of a rapidly rising population.
