Construction Companies Jobs
05 July 2010
Construction companies? jobs require a large number of skills given the broad range of different roles in the sector. The industry relies not just on builders, surveyors, electricians, engineers but also great sales personnel and marketing professionals.
When looking for a job it is important that you can prove to employers that you have the relevant skills to fulfil their specific requirements. A recent report highlighted the massive skills shortage in the UK workforce with 1.7 million employees thought to be suffering from skill gaps.
In fact the National Strategic Skills Audit for England 2010 showed that one in five companies have some sort of skill gap within their existing workforce. This is bad news for the British economy, for the companies and the employees lacking necessary skills.
However, this offers an ideal opportunity for job seekers and indeed those currently in employment to gain a certification for their skills and show employers their worth. As already mentioned construction companies? jobs need many different types of skills and there are numerous courses available to match their requirements.
For example, the Chartered Institute of Marketing has a course called the Introductory Certificate in Marketing. This is one of many home study courses that can be undertaken to help improve your knowledge and chances of employment.
Whether it is a home study course or evening classes you want, electrician training or marketing skills, you can find many resources via the internet or even your local library. Construction companies? jobs can become more attainable with the more skills you have, so it makes sense to keep learning.
