Building services jobs: new training opportunity
11 March 2009
Those who currently hold or aspire for building services jobs now have a new training opportunity. Trade Training Associates (TTA) was launched in North Tyneside in late 2008 as an independent training provider. The company aims, and is expected, to give a major boost to those seeking industry-specific training and apprenticeships in the region.
TTA has already gained approval for its facilities and training standards from the British Plumbing Employers Council (BPEC). The Learning and Skills Council, which is responsible for planning and funding high-quality education and training for everyone in the UK other than those in universities, has also given its support to TTA to deliver programmes that attract its mainstream funding.
Those with building services jobs would be interested to know that TTA specialises in delivering training and assessment in the gas, water, oil and renewable energy sectors. While the company’s current emphasis is on heating, gas and plumbing, it has ambitious plans to expand its range of available courses across the country in the near future.
“There are three distinct strands within the business: apprenticeships and Train to Gain for those who are already in work and require training; programme-led, for those young people who want to get into work but do not have an employer; and full-cost training and assessment for ACS gas and LPG accreditation,???? explained Ian Wood, director of TTA. All employers and employees in building services jobs are sure to be benefited from these valuable training opportunities.
