Be Prepared for Quantity Surveyor Jobs and Any Other Vacancies
19 May 2010
One of the big questions for many in construction, engineering and quantity surveyor jobs is what will the next government be able to do to secure jobs after the general election? Given the economic downturn of the last 18 months, rising unemployment and widespread problems for the construction industry in particular, this will be a critical remainder of the year for whoever wins the election in May.
What seems clear is that public services will be cut in the next year or so as the UK Government aims to reduce the national deficit. Each party has their own ideas about how soon to begin this and what to cut, whilst looking at other ways to raise money through taxes or other means.
David Kern, chief economist of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) said: ?Whatever the result of the election, a new Government must enable businesses to invest and create jobs.? Let us hope that the construction industry is given that sort of impetus to secure and create new roles in all aspects of the industry from bricklaying to quantity surveyor jobs.
Whilst the future still seems a little uncertain it is important for job seekers to be ready at all times, as new vacancies are being advertised regularly with recruitment agencies such as Humres. Candidates should ensure their CVs are up to date, the suit or other appropriate clothing for an interview is dry cleaned and keep checking this website for new construction, engineering, sales, marketing and quantity surveyor jobs.
