A Cunning Plan That Might Create Different Construction Jobs

Jobseekers not just in the UK but around the globe will have encountered many barriers over the last couple of years when looking for different construction jobs. Hopefully that trend is being reversed in the UK at least as the construction industry has shown several months of growth.

Of course finding the money to fund construction projects is one thing and the UK Government is very much relying upon the private sector to help out in this respect. However, even the Treasury recognises that spending on infrastructure in the UK will need to be in the region of ?40 billion to ?50 billion each year up to 2030.

As such people looking for different construction jobs should feel slightly encouraged that the National Infrastructure Plan published in October clearly recognises the importance of infrastructure to the UK economy. Many people will agree that Britain?s roads, railways, schools and hospitals need urgent improvement.

The plan will provide the framework to identify and prioritise the infrastructure needs of the country and ensure their delivery. Some in the construction industry may look at the plan and note that five sectors were singled out for mention in the plan. Construction was not one of them.

However, the knock on effect of funding projects in energy and the transport sectors for example, should have a knock on effect on the construction industry. Therefore, it seems that if the plan is taken seriously by the UK Government, there is the prospect of many different construction jobs being created in the next few years.
