Our client is an international multi-disciplinary practice with a rapidly growing workload in facade consultancy. They currently have a turnover in excess of £100M and employ over 3000 employees.
They are currently looking to employ an additional Senior Technician.
Ability to monitor and implement Quality Control Systems.
Ability to supervise Technicians and Junior Technicians.
Show ability to participate in team management by managing resources and interviewing.
Ability to estimate structural drawing list requirement from Architects drawings.
Maintaining Project Quality Plan.
Attending team/job meetings to discuss progress/deadlines/detail design issues.
Implementing QA policy and CDM requirements.
Overseeing level and quality of output of Junior Technicians and Technicians within the team.
Assisting the team associate with programming of CAD workload and resources.
In house training of Junior Technicians and Technicians within the team.
Liaison with other Senior Technicians within the firm with regard to resource planning and CAD standards.
Interviewing and assessing new permanent and contract staff.
Assisting with the appraisal of CAD Staff.
Auditing CAD drawings for content and “duty of care” for Engineering content.
Take active role at team meetings and provide feedback where possible.
Contribute to the development of company systems by reviewing existing procedures and by using the feedback systems.
Develop new procedures where necessary.
Normally educated to Higher BTEC or 6-10 years relevant experience and looking to progress through Civils/Structures Institutes.
Detailed knowledge of CAD standards.
Ability to represent the consultancy at detailed co-ordination meetings.
Demonstrate all round technical competence.
Ability to produce general arrangement drawings from Architectural drawing with minimal Engineering guidance.
Act as lead technician on a large project or number of smaller projects.
Understand design philosophy/design fundamentals.
Be familiar with Design Team (Architects/Service Engineers/etc) drawings and specifications.
Develop drawings and details in accordance with CAD standard.
Co-ordinate with Design Team (Architect/Service Engineers/etc) regarding drawn information.
Set up project drawings in accordance with the CAD standards ready for more junior staff to continue as project Technicians.
Assist with the integration into teams of new techniques and ways or working such as structural modelling.
Be competent at influencing and motivating people (staff).
Set an example to all staff by demonstrating compliance with company’s procedures and policies and operate company controls.
Actively address problem issues, don’t criticise without presenting and pushing solutions.
