An outstanding salary package is now on offer for a mechanical or electrical Quantity Surveyor to take the lead role on a prestigious new-build project valued at 5 million. Our client has been delivering first-class building services in Hampshire and the South West for over 100 years. The company is now one of the leading mechanical and electrical contractors in Hampshire, parts of the West Country and central London. Since its acquisition 15 years ago by a main contracting group its development has been led by the direction of this highly successful main-contracting group. Heavy investment in quality control was given early on as half the reason for purchasing our client was to ensure and sustain internal accountability for excellence of service. Fitting in with the contracting services of the group our client has a large proportion of all new build residential projects in the South, especially in Hampshire, where the company was originally established. The company’s recent flagship project is the securing of what will be the tallest residential structure in Europe. Along with market places including pharmaceutical and commercial builds the work of our client is always dictated by the main-contracting direction of the group as a whole. The nature of this relationship lends to an extremely positive working environment as bonuses and performance are guided at a group rather than individual company level.
Commercially responsible for a project or a number of smaller projects All Quantity Surveying duties including measurement & valuation Preparation of interim valuations and applications Interim administration and settlement preparation of sub-contractors accounts Assist in the preparation of loss and expense accounts Advise project team on contractual implications as encountered and provide advice accordingly Discuss/negotiate with the Clients representative or other members of the professional team Participate in risk/opportunity project workshops Prepare/assist in the production of contract review reports Prepare/assist in the production of management account information Assist the all aspects of the pre-start project works, procurement, etc Assist/establish from award of contact the most economical method of construction Identify change; follow change control procedures and processes to ensure recovery Ensure that the contract documents are properly executed prior to project commencement Assist generally in the operations of the business
