Our client wishes to recruit a M&E Building-Services Operations Manager for major projects, circa £2m. Expertise of management within a complex contractual environment is essential. Equally, you must be completely at ease with negotiating financial agreements.


About the Client:
Our client is a M&E building-services contractor with an annual turnover of around £10m. They have a strong cash position on the balance sheet and an excellent forward order book for 2012/13. They are based in the Suffolk area.


About the Role:
  • Managing the engineering function of a portfolio of Mechanical & Electrical building-services contracts, circa £10m
  • Even though this is an engineering role, you will have a lead in our client’s project-by-project cost management strategy and a responsibility for the basic cost management of all the projects undertaken by the company
  • You will maximise the financial opportunities and ensure the implementation of the agreed cost strategy from the board Directors
  • Full responsibility for all commercial aspects of the various electrical projects across London and the South East
  • Identify and develop sound financial-management strategies in consultation with the Director of Operations
  • Ensure the contracts team are resourced with the appropriate information to deliver the engineering of the projects successfully


About the Candidate:
  • Essential to have a strong contracts-management background gained within a Mechanical & Electrical building-services environment in the South East
  • Ability to delivery contracts on time
  • Excellent grasp of the financial management of contracts
  • Able to rapidly conclude and defend complex negotiations in a relationship-lead environment; 
  • Able to show a track record of financial success in the negotiation of final accounts with supply chain and Client contracts in a variety of operating environments
  • Able to lead project teams in a complex challenging operating environment to deliver financial success and cement relationships with Client and Professional Teams
  • Significant procurement expertise
  • Keen commercial acumen and understanding of business and the legal environment gained within a senior electrical building-services career
