About the Role:
Management of all London Borough of Enfield works, including Mechanical, Electrical, planned, reactive works and small projects (total value approx. £800K)
Management of most other heating and mechanical works.
Management of some local electrical works – generally small projects.
Management of most air conditioning works
Assistance with estimating larger projects £30k - £80K
Management of some larger works ensuring they are completed in time and within budget.
Assist the other managers when others on leave
Liaison with London Borough of Enfield Contract administrators. LB Enfield has a contract administrator for Mechanical works, Electrical works and planned works.
Liaison with subcontractors for the above works where applicable
Interview candidates for vacant engineer’s posts
Checking engineers weekly time sheets, checking that engineers are not overbooking their times and their times are allocated to the correct job No.
Obtaining write ups and paper work from engineers on a daily basis
Updating of facilities management Planet data base
Deal with Health and safety issues
Carry out staff inductions for mechanical engineers
Assist with mechanical compliance
To act as the primary point of contact for the project / contract
To ensure that all the quality control procedures are carried out.
Liaise with the senior management team and feed back information regarding clients, work load and staffing issues.
To ensure that all the quality control procedures are carried out by all members of the team.
To liaise with clients & visit site prepare quotes as required.
Carry out all types of surveys and setting out to a high standard.
To visit sites and carry out risk assessments and produce method statements or work packages as required.
Identify the need for and ensuring the development of new safe working practices.
Ensure the implementation of emergency procedures and assist in the development, as appropriate, of local emergency procedures.
Ensure that accidents, incidents and hazards are recorded and reported and investigated in accordance with Munns policy and that appropriate remedial action is taken.
Ensure that the hazards of any new duties, systems, equipment or substances are considered, and that measures are in place to eliminate or control risks identified before purchase or implementation.
Ensure an effective system for communication and logging of health and safety information.
Identify and fulfil Health and Safety training needs.
Ensure that departmental procedures and safe systems of work are reviewed as necessary but at least annually.
Identify and inform Managing Director of health and safety training needs and where appropriate fulfilling these needs.
Undertake regular inspections and to monitor working practices.
Ensure when, new or temporary workers are employed within they receive appropriate information regarding the health and safety arrangements.
To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as required by the Managing Director
About the Candidate:
A successful track record in a similar role should be demonstrated and experience in small M and E installations and reactive and planned maintenance, he/she should have qualifications to demonstrate their suitability for the post. The candidate will be required to update our clients planet maintenance management software in order to ensure that sufficient information will be available to all within the company, therefore a good level of computer literacy and an understanding of Microsoft office products should also be demonstrated.
