Excellent opportunity for Electrical Marine Design Engineer.
Imtech Marine & Offshore specialises in tailormade,innovative solutions (systems and services) in the field of electrical installations, energy systems, platform automation,integrated bridge systems, Nav/Com and HVAC (heating, ventilation & airconditioning) systems. Imtech Marine & Offshore employs more than 1000 people. The company has a turnover in excess of £100m, and are currently looking for a North East based electrical marine design engineer.
- Development of Key Single-Line Diagrams
- Electrical Load analysis and short circuit current calculations.
- Lighting design calculations.
- Main and emergency power and lighting distribution systems design.
- Preparation of equipment and material specifications.
- Cable routing and electrical equipment arrangements design.
- Internal and external communication systems installation design.
- Navigation systems installation design.
- Development, review and approval of fire detection and safety arrangements.
- Knowledge of specialist offshore vessels – pipe layers, drill ships, flotels, FPSOs – would be advantageous.
- Substantial experience is required across the design spectrum, ranging from concept development through classification and regulatory approval to detailed design and production definition, in the Marine and Offshore sectors.
- Hands-on involvement in design activities and the ability to provide technical guidance at all levels in the solution of a variety of complex design problems are essential.
- A working knowledge of the requirements of classification societies and regulatory authorities, and relevant standards and codes of practice such as SOLAS, MARPOL and Flag State requirements is essential.
- The ability to communicate effectively, particularly in writing, is also important.
- Good man management & motivational skills
- Well organised, with good methodical, analytical & computational skill levels
- Assist in project management of design projects, liaison with clients both in the UK & overseas.
