Design Engineer wanted for Building Design & Contracting Company on projects in the UK and abroad.
My client has been at the forefront of building design for the past thirty years; working on some of the most exciting building projects in the UK and abroad. Their work ranges from designing detailed, coordinated environmental services for individual buildings in a wide range of sectors to urban master-planning and infrastructure. They attach great importance to the people who join the practice, and the structure of their organisation is designed to give all who work there a voice in key decisions.
Provision of a range of Electrical Engineering Services Design to external and internal customers in the education, retail, leisure, commercial, cultural, heritage, healthcare and industrial sectors.
Services to include: conceptual and detailed design, technical consultancy, project management, education and training.
This role involves working with the Principal Electrical Engineer and carrying out the full range of professional services to produce and deliver designs to the highest standards to meet client requirements.
The work must be completed in full compliance with legislation, regulations, current guidance and Codes of Practice, as well as within budget and to client driven timescales.
Developing and maintain good customer relations when responding to enquiries or implementing projects.
The hours of work will typically be 9 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. However, some reasonable flexibility would be expected in the case of closing project deadlines.
This role requires an experienced Electrical Engineer who is willing and capable of sharing their knowledge with the rest of the practice.
Strong communication skills, a flexible approach to work and being a good team player are essential to ensure that internal and external processes are effectively managed without constant supervision.
A proven track record in design and implementation of electrical building services installations is desirable, as well as having contributed to the design and delivery of multi-discipline engineering on a variety of projects, seeing them through to completion.
The successful candidate will also have a broad knowledge of the political, legal, environmental and technical issues relating to the sustainable development of the built environment.
A good comprehensive knowledge and application of regulations, legislation, codes of practice and current design standards and guidance applicable to electrical building services installations is a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate will have a good honours degree or masters in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics.
Will be able to interpret client requirements and prepare concept and detail design drawings, add value to a project and be able to think beyond their own discipline.
