About the role: 

You will be leading a regional design team to deliver exceptional projects for our clients and stakeholders. Interpreting client briefs and turning them into creative solutions, delivering high-quality products, overseeing design teams, and troubleshooting design problems. You will be responsible for managing the design team and formulating clear processes for the business using commercial, contractual, programme time awareness, and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Managing a regional design team.
  • Supporting, understanding, and advising the client as to the requirements and obligations in the development of a building design.
  • Encouraging and inspiring design consultants to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources, and talents in a cost-effective way.
  • Ensuring the design process recognizes current legislation, standards, and codes of practice, where appropriate.
  • Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
  • Managing processes relating to the design to ensure that everything is delivered to schedule and budget, working closely with the estimating, and QS’s teams, and Site Managers.
  • Reviewing feedback from clients and making alterations according to the client’s needs.
  • Ensuring the Caddick business remains compliant in all aspects of design management and seeks best practice and innovation opportunities to continue to improve the business.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the design consultant team and our client partners. 
  • Conduct financial, technical, and operational risk assessments and advise on risks, opportunities, and potential hazards.
  • Keep up to date with relevant regulations, codes and legislation.
  • Chairing design meetings, writing reports and giving presentations.
  • Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
  • Mentoring and coaching the design team and supporting staff to deliver exceptional standards

About the candidate: 

  • Relevant degree 
  • A minimum of 3 years senior-level design experience.
  • Strong creative skills and the vision to turn briefs into creative projects.
  • Excellent leadership, organisation, and analytical skills.
  • Good collaboration and strong communication skills.
  • Great time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to resolve complex design and communication issues.
  • Ability to adhere to tight deadlines and manage budget constraints to deliver a great product and experience. 

Salary: £45K-£60K basic salary with company benefits.
